15 Year Class Reunion

I have been slacking and haven't posted for awhile. The reason why is because I was in charge of my high school class reunion. I had a great time!! We were few in number. I have to admit I was a little disappointed at how few people actually responded to us. Because there were so many people who did respond, but couldn't make it, we made a blog with everyone's updates and pictures. It has been a big success. If you want to take a look, the address is www.badgersaregettingolder.blogspot.com

Anyway, those of us who were there had a great time and laughed a lot about funny things that we remembered. Rachel did some trivia for us that brought back lots of fun memories. And I have to say how wonderful my husband was to help with everything. He stood out in the cold wind to bbq kabobs, cleaned up, did dishes, and took Peyton in between. What a great guy I have!!!!!!!

Everyone stood around B.S.ing while we got the food ready.

We brought Peyton with us since he can't be away from me for more than two hours. He was such a good boy. He slept all the way down and back and was pretty content in his bouncer the whole time.

Abby's Birthday

This is the mermaid cake that I made. It was fun to do and turned out pretty good for just winging it. The kids loved it and I had a hard time getting them to leave it alone until the party.
We had a party at Chuck E. Cheese. The Haskell relatives all came to play and eat pizza. We had a great time. I'm not sure who had the most fun, the kids or the Haskell brothers.
Eating pizza and rockin' with the chuck e puppet show!
Abby and Chuck E. We had to get at least one picture (even if he is kind of a freaky puppet).

Spring, Spring, It's a Wonderful Thing!

We have had a real rollercoaster of weather. We have enjoyed a few nice sunny days and a few really windy days where a storm blows in and then it snows. Today was one of those windy days. But Stockton being the resourceful kid that he is, who will play out in the sandbox if at all possible thought of a solution. He went and got the toy goggles from his tool box and used them to keep the blowing sand out of his eyes. Luckily there are two pairs in the tool box because everything he does, Abby does. These are Stockton's plans for his bug house. As we have been getting ready for summer he thought of an idea. He made a plan that if we made a nice house for the bugs, that they would stay there and leave us alone. He has a window and door planned and thinks he might put up signs that say "grasshoppers, come in here!" We thought it was so cute and told him to draw up some plans. This is what he came up with.
The kids have been so excited since we put the tramp back up. Andy made our tramp into a mini-tramp to save my sanity. It has been great. Abby has been bounced off a couple of times (once on her head and scared me to death.) But she hasn't gotten hurt since there's not too far to fall. It is great because she can get off and on by herself. It is only about a foot off the ground, but since the kids don't weigh much it works for us. And all the other neighborhood kids love it too. Even the ones with their own regular tramps. They are jumping with our next door neighbor girl. She is the same age as our abby and her name is abby too. It is already confusing when they are all outside and someone yells "abby".
We are starting to get ready for T-ball season. Abby won't be able to play for a few years, but will be already when the time comes. She wants to do everything Stockton does, so she gets a turn to bat and field too.
Stockton has been doing pretty good with the Tee. There have been a few nice nights when they could practice. Andy is the coach. We'll keep you posted on how the games go.

Enjoying Some Sketty

Unfortunately I missed her putting hand fulls of spaghetti into her mouth. Hence the dirty face. I thought this was so cute I had to post it. She loves spaghetti.
Yummy!!!!!!!
Want some? I'll share.

She's Got a Ticket to Ride

There she goes!
We gave Abby this bike for her birthday last year. We got one with a handle since her legs were too short for her to pedal. She got pretty frustrated all last summer when the other kids were all riding around the house mock 9 and she couldn't do it. But as it has finally started to get a little warmer and we have been out this spring---lo and behold--- she can reach!!! She has been working on pedaling every chance she gets and can now get around pretty well. I know in a few weeks she will be riding around the sidewalk mock 9 too.

Stockton's Art work

Stockton brought this home from Kindergarten he was so proud of his art work that he used a whole roll of tape to put it on the door. Its titled "Two Happy Fish"
Stockton's had a few issues with us lately. One day he got mad and the next thing I knew he had made these signs for the door to his bedroom. No girls or moms or dads allowed. That might cause a problem since Abby shares his bedroom.

Crazy Hair Day

One funny hair thing that happened today was that Abby wanted "punzel"(Repunzel) hair. We made this little hair stuff holder a few weeks ago. I had something like it when I was little. It's just a big braid made out of yarn. For some reason today, she thought of it and wanted to put it "on" and be just like Repunzel. It lasted only a hour or so, and now it is hanging up in the bathroom again.

Andy ended up putting Peyton to bed last night after we bathed him and I fed him. When I woke up to feed him in the night, I couldn't tell for sure in the dim light, but I thought he had a mohawk. So, all night long, I wondered if Andy had given him that crazy hair do before he went to sleep. (Honestly I couldn't imagine Andy doing that.) So when we woke up, the first thing I did was ask if Andy had given him a mohawk. He said that that was just the way his hair ended up from how he laid on the blankets. It has lasted all day! He is still pretty darn cute, even with a mohawk!!
